Google Search Results – Trends for 2016

,

google-search-resultsThe Google search results page is one of the more overlooked but very vital pieces of online marketing.  If you compared the results page from a year or two ago to today, you would see that Google only had 2-3 ads per search and the map was shown to the right of the listings.  Now (I attached a screen shot to the right, click to enlarge) you can’t even see the natural SEO ranked websites without having to scroll.  On my screen, I have to scroll 3/4 the way down the page to get to the organic listings.  There are 4 ads each with 4-5 lines, then you get to the Maps and each listing has 3-4 lines.

A lot of clients want to jump straight to the SEO and I always point this out to them.  SEO should still be a priority but you absolutely can’t over look Adwords (if you have the budget) and Google Maps.  If you aren’t on there, you better believe your competition is!  It’s smart on Google’s end from a earning standpoint but sad that it almost forces your hand as a business.

Either way, our recommendation in all aspects of online marketing is to increase your exposure in any way, shape, or form.  If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to visit our SEO page or give us a call.
