Website Security (SSL)
What is SSL
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. Basically, when a visitor on your site submits confidential information to your website, you don't want someone to be able to intercept that information, so you encrypt it with SSL.
When do I need SSL
There are certain types of websites that an SSL is required for such as an e-Commerce solution that is accepting credit cards. But the typical rule of thumb is that whenever you are submitting any type of personal information such as social security numbers, credit card info, medical history, or anything else that can be used against someone, you need an SSL.
How do I get SSL
That's where we come in. You first need to purchase an SSL certificate for your website, which we can handle if you would like. Then you need to install that certificate on the server that's securely hosting your website, we can handle this as well. The next few steps gets a bit more complicated, but rest assured, we will handle all of this for you.
